Hellenic Thoracic Society

Hellenic Thoracic Society

Hellenic (Greek) Thoracic Society (HTS) is a national organization that brings together respiratory physicians, allied health-care professionals, scientists, and other experts working in respiratory medicine. HTS is the leading medical organization in the respiratory field, with a growing membership representing over 1,500 respiratory physicians in Greece. HTS was established in 1966 in Athens. Its mission is to promote lung health in order to prevent and alleviate suffering from diseases and establish high standards for practicing chest medicine. Science, education, advocacy, and public awareness are at the core of everything we do.

HTS is managed by an executive committee consisting of seven members, which is renewed every 3 years, following a secret ballot of its members. The board deals with scientific and administrative issues, as well as with scientific congresses and lectures.
